Program Details
Students for Fair Consideration (S4FC) is a student-run, student-written website. It is made possible by Educators for Fair Consideration (E4FC), whose mission is to increase the number of low-income immigrants graduating from college and gaining citizenship in the United States. We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area. S4FC is produced by participants in E4FC’s Student Ambassador Program.
Ambassador Program Overview
19 immigrant youth from 8 different countries and 13 different colleges and universities were selected from a large pool of applicants to become a part of our 2009-2010 Immigrant Student Ambassador Program.
Ambassadors are required to:
- Participate in the Boot Camp (August 29th and 30th, 2009)
- Participate in the End-of-Year Celebration (early Summer 2010, exact date TBA)
- Complete your individualized Organizing Game Plan (Due to your Advisor on September 15, 2009)
- Complete your Mid-Year Reflection (Due to your Advisor on January 15, 2010)
- Complete your Final Reflection (Due to your Advisor on June 15, 2010)
- Submit one weekly online blog entry about your organizing activities/events
- Participate in at least one monthly conference call or face-to-face meeting with your Advisor
Ambassadors are strongly encouraged to:
- Attend regular training workshops
- Participate in other Ambassadors’ activities/events
- Collaborate with other Ambassadors in joint activities/events
- Share information/resources with other Ambassadors
Ambassadors will receive stipends:
- $200 upon completion of your individualized Organizing Game Plan (Due to your Advisor on September 15, 2009)
- $200 upon completion of your Mid-Year Reflection (Due to your Advisor on January 15, 2010)
- $200 upon completion of your Final Reflection (Due to your Advisor on June 15, 2010)
Ambassadors are invited to apply for funds to support their organizing:
- You can apply for up to $500 to support your organizing activities/events
- Submit a Funding Application for each request
- Funding Applications must be approved by your Advisor and Katharine Gin
