The Perils of Social Media
Even as some sort of ‘new media giant,’ I just learned today that un-friending people on Facebook is the ultimate ‘diss.’ Alright, maybe I knew already but didn’t pay much attention. I was just trying to make my Facebook drama-free but ended up inviting more drama!
Since most of you are just venturing into new media and social networking, here is a warning video for everyone: don’t let facebook ruin your relationships!
Don’t take it too seriously. It’s hilarious.Just be careful about how you handle your personal and public personas and who you invite to be ‘friends’ on facebook or ‘follow you’ on Twitter.
Someone once asked how to break up with someone, and I thought to myself “just change your facebook status”… LOL!
Yeah, first I got told to keep my blogwrath and rants in check. Then I was told to do a public/private divide of my online profiles. That’s all I was doing–getting non-friends off my Facebook and other personal profiles!
The relationship status thing is a kicker — I probably won’t update it in the future. I have had some women say they are in a relationship just to avoid men.
