Invisible Children and the Guluwalks
Hi everyone. This is Christabelle. As of now, I am currently helping out with a charity walk event called Guluwalks that a club from my school called Invisible Children will be hosting in Merced. The event will be in Merced and it will be on a Saturday, October 24th, 2009. The event mainly consists of a walk around a park and it will be for about 3 miles. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come and support the event. The purpose of this Guluwalks is to raise money for the children in northern Uganda in Africa in order to build a Cultural Centre for the purpose of bringing the community together. It is also to raise awareness about what is happening to the children of nothern Uganda. I will be at the event to help out with the fundraising committee and if you would like to come or have questions just contact me at cnaw@ucmerced.edu or call me at (415)518-8749. If you would like to sponsor us for this event please do so here. This is the first Guluwalks in Merced and I hope it will improve the quality of life for the children of Uganda. To learn more about the children of Uganda and the Invisible Children Organization, click here or to sign up for the event go to guluwalk.com. Thank you.
Yours,
Christabelle

Hi Christabelle! Thanks for updating us on your organizing efforts, and for increasing our awareness about the children of northern Uganda. How did you become interested in this group of people? I will definitely tell my relatives in Merced! Kathy
This is awesome.
Christabelle! That sounds like a great idea to reach out internationally.
My family and I live in Modesto (which is really close to Merced), so I’ll try to definitely come out and support.
Hi Kathy, I got interested into the Invisible Children club and the children of northern Uganda during my freshman year in UC Merced when I went to the club fairs in our school. All the clubs in our school tabled for their clubs and I talked to the president of the Invisible Children and what is the club all about. The stories she told me was sad and I felt like I want to do something about it and that is how I signed up but I was never be able to the meeting until this year. Please tell your relatives to sign up for the Guluwalk!!
and yes Knavila…it is awesome we could do something like the Guluwalk to get the community to be aware of injustices going on, making us less selfish.=) and yes Sergio, please come and support. don’t forget to sign up! and it is on October 24th!a Saturday in Apple Gate Park!
